Can you imagine the feeling of not being able to give presents to your children during the holidays? Unfortunately, many of the families that we help do not have the means to do so, or are too sick to go get out of bed and shop for their loved ones. Financially strapped families already have a difficult time during the holidays, but dealing with a cancer diagnosis places an even heavier burden on them due to exorbitant medical fees and other expenses they incur. Sadly, holiday shopping often is put on hold because they can’t afford to do both.
That’s where the Adopt-a-Family Program comes in. We match up donors with families in need, based on the intended amount of donation, and make sure that the whole family has something to unwrap for the holidays! The Beauty Foundation will provide donors with the sponsored family’s “wish list” for the holiday (Christmas, Hanukkah, etc.) so that they can shop for them. And if you don’t have time to shop, we’ll do it for you. All we need is your donation. We will let the sponsored family know it was you to help them have a great holiday, or if you would prefer, we can have the donated gifts listed anonymously. Either way, you’ll make sure that cancer doesn’t ruin a child’s holiday and gives the family much-needed happy moments away from this dreaded disease.
