9th Annual Beauty Ball Press Release:

The Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care hosted the 9th Annual Beauty Ball on Saturday, March 14th. Event co-chairs Krista-Olsen Dibsie and Carla Scarabino, along with the entire Board of Trustees, decided it was time for something unique and fresh. The gala had outgrown its previous venue, and moved to The Robert J. Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College. This gracefully accommodated more than 300 guests to dine, dance and celebrate. The evening raised over $250,000. All proceeds will be given to families who are currently fighting cancer.

The evening brought plenty of celebrity. Bo Dietl, one of the most highly decorated detectives in the history of the NYC Police Department, whose career was the subject of the major motion picture, One Tough Cop, and is now a regular Fox News contributor, received the 2015 Diamond Award of Philanthropy. Peter Criss, co-founder and drummer of the legendary rock band, KISS, gave a heartfelt presentation of the 2015 Man of Courage Award to Connor Phelps, a 21-year-old Arizona college student who is currently battling Leukemia. The Man of Courage Award is named after Mr. Criss, who is a male breast cancer survivor and the award’s first recipient in 2013.

Lauren Camacho, a southern NJ resident currently battling brain cancer, was presented with the 2015 Woman of Courage Award for her very brave battle. Lauren brought the house down after sharing her story and received a standing ovation.

Lou Russo, host of the Lou and Liz in the Morning show on 94.3 The Point, was the night’s emcee. He presided over a highly successful “live pledge” session that raised over $20,000 alone.

Guests from all over the Tri-State Area come to the Beauty Ball each year to enjoy a very special evening, and help support the Beauty Foundation’s mission to ease the financial strains associated with battling cancer, and to allow patients and their families to focus on the most important thing; beating the disease.
